Description
Pale salmon with a copper-tinged rim — the color of late afternoon light on Chianti stone. The nose opens with dried wild strawberry and blood orange peel, deepened by a mineral undercurrent of crushed chalk and warm iron. Seven hours of skin contact give the wine its structure without sacrificing freshness: on the palate, fine-grained tannins frame flavors of pomegranate, white peach, and a hint of dried herbs. The finish is long, saline, and precise — unmistakably Sangiovese, unmistakably Tuscan.
The wine’s saline backbone and structured tannins make it unusually versatile at the table. It moves comfortably from aperitivo hour through a full meal, rare for a rosé at this price point. Think dishes where acidity and minerality do the work: raw shellfish, fatty cuts of fish, or anything with a touch of heat.
The Rosé 2025 is made from the same Sangiovese vines that produce Casa Emma’s Gran Selezione Vignabufati, rated 95–96 points by Wine Spectator. The fruit is harvested early to preserve natural acidity, then held in contact with the skins for seven hours. Six months in stainless steel preserve every nuance of the vineyard. The result is a wine of uncommon seriousness for its category: structured enough for food, precise enough to age one to two years, and honest enough to drink right now.
